Family Court Orders Psychiatric Assessments Mental evaluations are often set off by the behaviour of moms and dads or in cases where abuse is suspected. If there is extreme dispute between moms and dads or a kid is being 'alienated', the evaluator will recommend family treatment and/or parenting courses.
